Commission Portrait Procedure: The portrait process begins with a meeting between the client and myself to discuss the size & price of the portrait to be created. A 25% non-refundable deposit is required at that time. During our initial discussion we will consider all of the details of your painting: pose, clothing, background, subjects, potential photographs and the intended displayed location. The next step is the photographic session to set the nature of the painting. I will then select several pictures that were taken and sumbit them to the client for significant follow-up comments. Upon the client's approval, I will then proceed with the portrait. If another photographic session is required, it can be arranged at that point. I prefer to paint the portrait from the photograph I take, but upon special request, I can possibly work from a submitted photo. Once the painting is finished I will contact the client and the final balance will be due either on pickup or delivery. My turnaround time from the initial meeting to the completed portrait ranges from one week to one month. If you are local, you are more than welcome to stop in and see the progress on the painting. |
